72 Trainee Officers of Bangladesh Civil Service Administration Academy paid a visit to ASA Head Office

72 Trainee Officers participating in the Law and Administration course at Bangladesh Civil Service Administration Academy, Shahbag paid a visit to ASA Head Office at Shyamoli, Dhaka on May 9, 2017.

The visitor were apprised of the ongoing programs and matters relating to structural and functional aspects of ASA. A presentation session was arranged to share progress of various financial and nonfinancial programs of the organization. M Abdul Aziz, Senior Deputy President, Mr. Sushil Roy, EVP, HR Division, Md. Fayzer Rahman, Head of Operation, Dr. Md. Asifur Rahman, Coordinator of ICT of ASA and a number of senior officials of the organization were present on the occasion.

Habiganj Nagorik Committee Hosts Civic Reception for ASA President Md. Shafiqual Haque Choudhury


ASA President Md. Shafiqual Haque Choudhury was conferred a Civic Reception by Habiganj Nagorik Committee on 14 January 2017 in a program arranged at Habiganj Zilla Parisad Auditorium. It was attended among others by Deputy Commissioner, Habiganj, Superintendent of Police of Habiganj, local elite and people representing distinguished cross-section of the district were present.

Reciprocating his feeling ASA President said that this was a special honour for him from the people of the land where he was born. He also pointed out that for about four decades, he had been engaged for the cause of poverty alleviation and willing to involve himself for the welfare of the people in rest of his life. He expressed thanks and gratitude to the organizers for giving him this honour.

ASA Donates 9,000 Pieces Blankets to the Poor

This winter ASA donated 9,000 pieces of blankets valued BDT 25 Lac for the distress of the country. As part of its social welfare activities the organization distributed the above mentioned blankets among the poor of 27 districts of the country. The blankets were distributed through the respective district administrations. It may be mentioned here that ASA is a fully self-financed organization and does not received any donation or financial assistance from local or foreign donors.

ASA Stall was awarded at Sylhet Unnayan Mela (Fair) for Offering Essential Services


ASA Stall at Sylhet Unnayan Mela was awarded 3rd prize for delivering essential services to the visitors in the Mela held on 9-11 January 2017 in Sylhet. The organizer of Sylhet Unnayan Mela chose ASA Stall for the award in consideration of delivering some necessary services instantly like diabetic check, providing physiotherapy treatment and measuring blood pressure and weight of the visitors. It can be mentioned here that about one hundred stalls were arranged in the fair from various departments of government and NGOs for showcasing respective products and services. Distinguished guests including Chairman of the National Board of Revenue, Vice Chairman of MRA, Divisional Commissioner of Sylhet and Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet district visited and appreciated the display of ASA Stall.

ASA to enhance its effort for the development of Agriculture


ASA made a plan to adopt new programs and extend the existing ones for increasing use of equipment in agriculture and assisting the small and marginal farmers. ASA President Md. Shafiqual Haque Choudhury reveals this as Chief Guest in a coordination meeting of Zonal Managers (ZMs) of the organization held on 10 December 2016 at ASA Tower in Dhaka. He also said, ASA operates multifaceted programs for the welfare of the underprivileged of the society. In order to make them more sustainable, these will be reformed in such a way that people’s participation can increase.

Senior Deputy President of ASA, M Abdul Aziz told the meeting that for reaching maximum outcome of ASA the use of ICT will be increased in program implementation. Senior officials and 30 ZMs of ASA took part in the event.

ASA Introduces Distance Training Program through Video-conferencing

ASA in its quest for making services more user-friendly, is adopting modern and time-befitting tools such as IT. As a part of the process, the organization introduces Distance Training Program through video conferencing on 30 July 2016. ASA President Md. Shafiqual Haque Choudhury inaugurated the Distance Training Program through video conferencing from the ASA Head Office, Dhaka with the officials of Netrokona district. While opening the program he said that this new initiative will be helpful in disseminating various performance skills to the field level staff quickly and effectively.
