ASA has started an emergency assistance program for the people affected by the recent flood. The program includes free distribution of dry food, necessary medicines, oral saline, water purification tablets etc. Besides, victim members are allowed to withdraw their savings from ASA.
In addition, ASA set up 50 health camps for offering health services to the people in the affected areas. Free health services are being provided to the flood victims from these camps. ASA branches are also engaged in delivering of free oral saline, water purification tablets etc. A Health-guide was sent to the flood affected areas by the Health wing of ASA to make people aware saving themselves from water-borne diseases. Moreover, for saving domestic animals from diseases a treatment related guideline is being sent by the Agri-wing of ASA soon. A cell has been opened in the ASA central office in Dhaka to monitor progress of various measures undertakes. The program is being implemented in collaboration with the local administration.
