ASA, the leading Microfinance Institution of the country, took a plan to disburse loan amounting BDT. 255 billion among 7.5 million clients during the 2016-17 fiscal year. The decision was made its 37th Annual General Meeting held on 4 June 2014 at ASA Tower Conference Hall, Shyamoli in Dhaka.

The AGM also decided to spend BDT 470 million from its own resources to increase the coverage of Non-financial program: Primary Healthcare, Primary Education Strengthening Program, Physiotherapy, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH) Program and Agricultural support etc. during the same period. According to the 37th AGM decision, the outreach of the social welfare programs of ASA will be extended further so that a greater number of underprivileged people could able to access them and derive benefits.

Chaired by Mrs. Taherunnessa Abdullah, Chairperson of ASA Governing Body, ASA President Md. Shafiqual Haque Choudhury presented a progress report in the meeting on the outgoing year. It may be mentioned here that Mr. Mojurul Ahsan Bulbul and Mr. Md. Enamul Haque were selected new members for the ASA Governing Body by the 37th AGM.
